Antwerp Police Reports

On April 18, an officer was dispatched to Canal Street in reference to a minor accident. The officer responded and a report was prepared.

On April 23, a vehicle was stopped for traveling 50 mph in a 35-mph zone. The driver was cited for speeding and for driving under suspension. That same day, the police department was contacted in reference to a possible burglary and felonious assault. The case was investigated and forwarded to the prosecutor’s office. It was later presented to the Paulding County Grand Jury.

On April 24, the Antwerp Police Department was contacted regarding an assault that had occurred at Antwerp School.

On April 25, a county resident reported that her keys had been stolen from her workplace at the Dollar General in Paulding. She was referred to the Paulding Police Department for follow-up.

On April 26, a resident of the village reported losing their phone somewhere in town. On the same day, another resident reported a German Shepherd dog roaming loose in the village. The officer responded but was unable to locate the dog.

On April 28, a resident reported that a juvenile had been assaulted at Antwerp Park the day prior. The officer investigated the incident, prepared a report, and forwarded it to the prosecutor.

On April 29, the police department was contacted by the school regarding a student who had made numerous threats. A report was prepared and referred to the prosecutor.

On May 1, the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office notified Antwerp Police of a 911 hang-up call. The officer responded to the residence and determined it was an accidental dial. That same day, an officer was contacted in reference to a domestic dispute at the North Garden Apartments. The officer responded, spoke with the individuals involved, and forwarded a report to the prosecutor.

On May 3, a landlord contacted the Antwerp Police Department requesting information about a possible tenant. That same day, a resident of Madison Street reported that someone at the ballpark was burning leaves. The officer responded to the location and advised the individual that open burning is not permitted. Also on May 3, an officer was called near the Sunoco gas station in reference to a suspicious person near the roadway. The officer located and made contact with the individual.

On May 4, a resident contacted the police department with questions regarding a civil matter.

On May 5, it was reported that juveniles were exploding aerosol cans at Antwerp Park. Officers investigated the situation, located the juveniles involved, and prepared a report.

On May 7, an officer assisted EMS at Antwerp High School.

On May 10, an officer was requested to perform a welfare check on a resident on East River Street. The individual was located, and everything was found to be in order. Later that day, a resident requested an officer check their Main Street residence to ensure the garage door had been closed. The officer checked and confirmed the door was secured.

On May 13, an officer assisted Antwerp EMS at a residence. Later that day, a vehicle was stopped for traveling 50 miles per hour in a 35-mph zone. The driver was issued a citation for speeding and for driving without a license.
