Antwerp Celebrates Memorial Day

On Memorial Day, Monday, May 26th, the Antwerp VFW Post 5087 hosted a Parade and ceremony at Riverside Veterans Memorial Park in front of the Memorial Markers. Main speaker for this year’s event was 20-year US Air Force veteran and Antwerp resident Dave Phillips (new owner of KB Scoops). He spoke passionately and reverently about the importance of remembering what it took to give all Americans the freedoms they have today. The Antwerp Band played the Star Spangled Banner for the crowd as well, and the VFW performed the 21 gun salute and Taps.The community enjoyed the day of remembrance.
