The World of Outlaw Late Models were at the newly refurbished Mansfield Speedway last Friday, May 29th and Saturday, May 30th for two nights of racing. Friday the Outlaws were to race for the standard $12,000.00 to win first place and on Saturday night, they would race for $57,000.00 in the 57 Special around the ½ mile oval. This didn’t happen. A local race fan from Mansfield shocked the drivers and spectators at intermission both nights. On Friday he announced that he would pay $100,000.00 to whoever won the feature. It was the talk of the racing world and social media message boards went crazy. He came back Saturday and gave another $100,000.00 to the feature winner. 

Here’s a box score from Friday at Mansfield. Eathan Dotson’s 16.468 earned him the quickest time. The four heat race winners Eathan Dotson, Brandon Overton, Tyler Erb and Ricky Thornton Jr. Thornton started on the pole for the feature. The feature was won by “Turbo” Tyler Erb and the $100,000.00. 2nd Brandon Overton, and 3rd Bobby Pierce.

Saturday night at Mansfield for the 57 Special #2 for the World of Outlaw Late Models. Mooresville North Carolina’s Nick Hoffman set the pace with a 16.979 around the half mile oval. The 4 heat winners Nick Hoffman, Garrett Alberson, Josh Rice, and Trey Mills. The feature winner and Top 3, 1st Nick Hoffman $100,057.00, 2nd Garrett Alberson $25,000.00, and 3rd Hudson O’Neal $15,000.00.

The High Limit Series was in our area last Friday and Saturday. On Friday they ran a co-sanctioned show with the All Star Circuit of Champions at Lawrenceburg. 29 Sprints checked in. Kyle Larson set fast time in qualifying 12.148. Heat winners were Tanner Thorson, Parker Price-Miller and Rico Abreu.  Rico Abreu parked his car in Victory Lane, Kyle Larson 2nd and Parker Price-Miller 3rd, and Giovanni Scelzi.

Butler Motor Speedway in Quincy Michigan hosted the High Limit Series on Saturday for the Mace Thomas Classic. Brent Marks quick time 12.801. Heat winners Tanner Holmes, Tyler Courtney. Danny Sams III, and Justin Peck. Tanner Thorson won the Dash. The A main Top 3, 1st Aaron Reutzel, 2nd Brent Marks, 3rd and Tyler Courtney. 

Attica Raceway Park ran 4 classes of cars Friday. May 29th. Cap Henry set fast time 12.256 in the 410 Sprints. Feature winners: 410 Winged Sprints Cap Henry, UMP Late Models Devin Sheils, 305 Winded Sprints Bryan Sebetto, and Fremont Dirt Trucks Shawn Valenti.

Limaland Motorsports Park had the Keysor Memorial, Friday, May 29th for the Thunderstock class, paying the winner $1,500. The Non-winged Great Lakes Traditional Sprint were in town for their first appearance in 2026, along with the UMP Modifieds and The Dirt Trucks. The four feature winners: Great Lakes Traditional Sprints Ricky Lewis, Thunder Stocks, Jeff Matheny, UMP Modifieds Kevin Grilliot, and Dirt Trucks Rolly Heyder.

Fremont Speedway (The Track Action Built), Saturday, May 30th had a regular show, featuring the 410 Winged Outlaw Sprints, 305 Winged Sprints and the Fremont Dirt Trucks. One track record fell Saturday in qualifying, Shawn Valenti set Dirt Trucks fast time with a 16.910 and that’s a new track record. Feature winners 410 Winged Sprints Kalib Henry, 305 Sprints Bryan Sebetto and Fremont Dirt Trucks Shawn Valenti.

Saturday, May 30th Oakshade Raceway had 4 classes in action. In the Dirt UMP Late Models, Terry Rushlow turned the fastest lap 15.272. 24 UMP Late Models checked in, ready to battle it out. The feature winners in all classes DIRT UMP Late Models Steve Kester, Late Model Sportsmen Josh Robertson, Dominator Super Stocks Mason Luttrell, and Sport Compacts Ryan Okuley.
