Jamie R. “Big Daddy” Smith

PAULDING, OH:

Jamie R. “Big Daddy” Smith, age 53, of Paulding, OH passed away at his home on Saturday, November 22, 2025 surrounded by his family after a 3 1/2 year long hard-fought battle with cancer.

Jamie was born on March 10, 1972 in Paulding, OH to his parents Sandra (Goodenough) Wolfe and Ronald Smith. He was baptized in the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Paulding, OH.

He worked for 14 years at Defiance Metal Products. Jamie was an avid Chicago Bears and University of Michigan Wolverines fan as well as a movie buff.

Jamie is survived by his mother and stepfather, Sandi and Tim Wolfle, Paulding, OH; father, Ronald Smith; daughter, Audrey (Tim) Jones, Paulding, OH; brother, Josh (Shelly) Smith, Defiance, OH; step-brother, Dakota (Steph) Wolfle, Paulding, OH; step sister, Haylee (Nic) Wolfle, Plain City, OH; granddaughter, Elianna Jones, Paulding, OH; niece, Jade Dean; nephews, Dravyn McDonald and Merrick and Maddock Wolfe; great nieces, Christina, Paris and Jamie (named after Uncle Jamie); aunts, Cindi Williams and Beth (Eric) Stoller; special friends, Tammy (Horn) Kosch and Brenda Flores; and his fur baby, Gracie.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Gene and Elizabeth Goodenough and Jack and Eldean Smith; uncles, Jack and Tim Smith and Tom Goodenough.

Memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding OH. There will be calling hours from 12:00-3:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home before the memorial service.
