“Meet the Candidates” Event Planned for Antwerp

ANTWERP, OH — Local resident Tonya Walker has announced plans for an informal, public “Meet the Candidates” event to help community members get to know those running for office in the Village of Antwerp and Carryall Township.
The event will take place on Thursday, October 30, at the Antwerp VFW. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with the program beginning at 6:00 p.m. Tim Copsey has been invited to serve as Master of Ceremonies.
The evening will include brief introductions from each candidate, followed by a question-and-answer session and closing comments. Each candidate will have up to three minutes for their introduction.
Questions to be discussed:
1. What is your interest in running for council or trustee?
2. Do you believe you can be a team player and support a majority vote, even if it may go against your own?
3. What do you believe are the best attributes of the Village of Antwerp?
4. What do you believe should be a focus for the council over the next several years?
Walker emphasized that the gathering is intended to be respectful and welcoming. “This is a great opportunity for our community to hear directly from those who wish to serve,” she said. “I ask that everyone attending be kind and considerate.”
