The 3/50 Project & How You Can Participate and win money for yourself.Supporting local Antwerp businesses is more important than ever. When we shop locally, we not only strengthen our economy, but we also create jobs and build a stronger sense of community.
One simple way to do this is through the 3/50 Project. The idea is easy: spend $50 at three local businesses each month. While it may not sound like much, the impact on small businesses can be powerful.
How to Get Involved
Choose three Antwerp-area businesses you’d like to support each month. They can be anything from your favorite coffee shop or boutique, to a flower shop, gas station, or mechanic. Maybe you’re picking up a prescription, visiting the dentist, or planning a family outing at the bowling alley or arcade.
Spend a total of $50 across your three chosen businesses each month. You can stick with the same businesses or rotate new ones in. Every purchase helps.
Why It Matters
Boosts the local economy: Money spent locally stays local. For every $100 spent at a local business, $68 stays in the community—compared to only $43 when spent at a non-local business.
Creates jobs: Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, creating two out of every three new jobs in the United States. When they succeed, they provide jobs for local residents and keep communities strong.
Builds community pride: Local businesses are owned by our neighbors and friends. They often give back by supporting sports teams, fundraisers, and local charities—helping strengthen the fabric of our town.
Special September Challenge
During the month of September, you can also participate in a local incentive program!
Save your receipts from three different Antwerp-area businesses.
Make sure each receipt shows the date, your name, and phone number.
Place them in an envelope and drop them off at Leland Smith Insurance, Monday–Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Doing so will enter you into a drawing to win $100 in Chamber Bucks! We plan to hold this drawing quarterly to encourage shopping locally and to keep our small-town businesses thrive.
