Defiance Fire Rescue Receives $4,000 Grant Toward ATV Purchase

The Defiance Fire Rescue Department (DFRD) has been awarded a $4,000 grant through the Defiance Area Foundation’s (DAF) Spring 2025 grant cycle. The funding, made possible by the Hanna Family Memorial Fund under the DAF umbrella, will support the department’s efforts to purchase an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) with patient transport capabilities.

This specialized ATV will allow emergency responders to better reach and care for individuals in difficult-to-access areas—particularly important for large community events, parks, trails, and emergencies in rural terrain. While the $4,000 grant marks a significant contribution, the DFRD continues its fundraising efforts to secure the remaining funds needed to complete the purchase.
