WT Engineering Design Class Field Trip to Dana Incorporated

On Wednesday April 9th, the Wayne Trace High School the students, from Ed Stuart’s Engineering Design Class traveled to Dana Incorporated for a class field trip.
The field trip is a requirement for the CTE Engineering Pathway and the purpose of the visit was to expose the students to real world engineering design procedures and processes. The various disciplines presented to the class included Application Engineering, Product Engineering, Gear Engineering, materials Engineering, CAE (Computer Aided Engineering), NVH (Noise, Vibration & Harshness), CAD Design, Gear Design, Pre-FEA (Finite Element Analysis), Standards/Stack-Ups, Analysis/Motion Simulations and a Test Lab Tour.
It was stressed to the students that engineering is not a one person show. It takes working collaboratively with various groups within the company to achieve success. The student who participated in the field trip included Jaxon Cook, Cole Manz, Noah Schlatter, Keagen Sharp, Luke Stouffer, Selene Fernandez and Emma Stouffer. Also participating in the field trip was Mr. Tim Manz.
