ICE CREAM DEPOT

By: Stan Jordan

Last week I showed you a picture of the Ice Cream Depot. In the next couple of issues, I will talk more about the depot and its history to me and Antwerp.

In 1986, Kenny and Doris Reinhart bought that lot and building form a man in Toledo. It had been resided and repaired by the Solarcrete Co. They done a lot of work inside and opened up for business in May of 1987.

They were open a lot of hours each day, but that was the place to go and it was a success.

They were in business for 20 years and Kenny said they really enjoyed all the people and children but the long hours took a toll on them and they sold out to Mr. & Mrs. Walk.

Kenny brought me in a lot of fine pictures and I will show some them soon. I sure appreciate your help Kenny.

In the pictures given to me by Kenny is one of the last day of school and the teachers and helpers walked hand in hand from the school over on the hill up to visit the bank and the Ice Cream Depot.

This picture was about 1999. From left to right: Kelly Hormann, Shawn Dooley, Lisa Bragg, Julie Zuber and Barbara Wappes.

Mr. Dooley identified the adults, but he had no idea who the children are…maybe you do.

See ya!
