Ready, Set Go!! It’s time to kick off the the annual food collection event for the Caring and Sharing Food Pantry, Paulding County’s Food Bank. Taryn Stiltner of the United Way and Joe Barker of the WMYW, Paulding County’s Own Radio station started the event with the intention to re-fill the food bank each year. Area businesses sponsor this event to encourage the community to come together and give back to this project for the betterment of the community.

“Last year we raised $5,000 between the food drive and monetary donations.” said organizer, Taryn Stiltner of the Paulding County United Way.

The event just started on March 10 and runs through March 24. “We want everyone to know how much even a couple of cans of food will make a difference.”

“This food drive has greatly enhanced our supply and will be a tremendous help now and as we approach the summer months. The pantry will be providing more food for children during the summer, since they won’t be in school for lunches. We can’t thank all who donated enough for their generosity,” said Linda Wilhelm, director at Caring and Sharing Food Pantry about last year’s donations.

Ongoing support is always needed and welcome with drop off locations at 119 South Main St. in Paulding – beside the Library, as well as Chief Supermarket in Paulding, Integrity Ford, Paulding County United Way Office, and —new this year—Paulding Exempted Village School!

Sponsors this year include Chief Supermarket, United Way, Integrity Ford, 102.7 WMYW Radio, West Bend News, and Paulding Exempted Village Schools.

Think about what you can do and how you can help this year during the food drive. Your help can make a big difference!
