Woodlan’s Cobb nets 400th win

Woodlan girls basketball head coach Gary Cobb recorded the 400th victory of his career on Thursday when the Lady Warriors rolled to a 44-26 road win at Southern Wells Thursday night, December 13.

Woodlan jumped out to a 17-2 lead after eight minutes of action and the Lady Warriors posted a 19-8 advantage at the midway point of the contest.

At the end of three quarters, Woodlan went on push the margin to 31-14 entering the final stanza.

Gabby Joyce paced the Lady Warriors with 19 points in the contest while Addison Bayman chipped in 16 markers.

Abbey Gentz recorded four points for Woodlan followed by Hallie Mason and Dakotah Krohn with two markers each. Hanna Albertson had one point to round out the Warrior cause.

Georgie Hanauer topped Southern Wells with 11 points.

Jadeyn Thomas, Riley Tappy and Ashtyn Leas all had five markers each for the Lady Raiders.

Woodlan will visit Angola in non-league girls basketball action on December 21 before the Lady Warriors host cross-state rival Wayne Trace on December 27.
