John Lee Kennedy, 81, of Antwerp, Ohio passed away Friday, October 15, 2021 at Parkview Hospital Randallia.
John was born in Antwerp on October 19, 1939, a son of the late Roma (Knapp) Thompson & Paul Kennedy.
He worked as a truck driver for 42 years, driving for Rea Magnet Wire. John never knew a stranger and his love was always felt in his warm smile, booming voice, and welcoming greeting.
John will be sadly missed by his wife Ruth; children, Janeese (Don) Sarrazin, Joni Harrington, both of Fort Wayne, & Jared (Wendy) Kennedy of Lexington, KY; siblings, Barbara (Ken) Thiel, Hazen (Ava) Kennedy, Pudge (Linda) Kennedy, all of Antwerp, the late Diane (William) Hostetler of Fort Wayne, Carrie (the late Casey) Jones of Delphos, Terry (Linda) Thompson of Carmel, IN, Keith (Diane) Thompson of Hudson, IL, Frank (Mel) Thompson of Columbia City, IN, & Mary (John) Gunka of Dunkirk, OH; grandchildren, Chelsey, Cody, Riley, Tanner, Maggie, Dalton, Avery, & John; & 9 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Justin Kennedy.
Viewing is Monday, October 18, 2021 from 4-7 pm at Dooley Funeral Home, 202 W. River St., Antwerp, OH 45813.
Service is Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 10:30 am at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 3497 County Rd 424, Antwerp, OH 45813, with viewing one hour prior.
