Archers outlast Panthers for win

The Antwerp volleyball team recorded a four-set victory over county rival Paulding Tuesday night in Green Meadows Conference play.

The Lady Panthers won the opening set 25-23 before Antwerp answered with consecutive 26-24 victories to take control of the match. The Lady Archers then wrapped up the night with a 25-16 win in game four.

Senior Astianna Coppes paced the way for Antwerp with 19 digs, 13 kills, four blocks, two assists and one ace while fellow senior Grace Schuette chipped in 16 digs, three blocks, four kills and three aces.

Freshman Maddy Peters contributed a dozen assists, nine digs, one kill and one ace with senior Lydia Brewer recording 17 digs, 15 assists, 11 kills and one ace.

Others aiding the blue and white cause were Ratana Owen (two digs), Faith Nestleroad (six kills, one block), Caroline Rohrs (three digs), Emma Townley (two aces, one assist, seven digs), Maddie Smith (one dig), Jillian Treece (two aces, three kills, eight digs) and Katryna Fish (three kills, one assist, three blocks and one dig).

Topping the Panther effort was Katie Beckman with ten kills, two blocks, ten assists, two aces and five digs while Jocelyn Parrett chipped in seven slams and 18 digs. Claire Schweller added 28 assists to go along with three blocks, seven kills, one ace and ten digs.

Maci Kauser posted one kill, one ace and 22 digs and Janae Pease finished with five kills, one ace and 21 digs.
