Brown Township – The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Van Wert Post is investigating a one vehicle fatal crash. The crash occurred on State Route 613, near milepost 21, in Brown Township, Paulding County. The crash was reported on July 30, 2021, at approximately 1:20 A.M.
Mark A. Dobbelaere, 62, of Oakwood, OH, was operating a 2011 Cadillac CTS westbound on State Route 613 near mile post 21. Dobbelaere drove off the right side of the roadway and struck a traffic sign post. He then struck a pole and overturned into a tree. Dobbelaere was pronounced deceased on scene.
Assisting on scene were the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office, Oakwood Fire and EMS, Grover Hill Fire and EMS and Gideon’s Towing.
