What’s Happening at Your Library

The Paulding County Carnegie Library is open to the public and in the process of planning many activities at all their locations.

The Adult Section  in Paulding is in the process of planning a project, like the library Facebook page, and watch for contests and daily prizes.

The Children’s Room is busy with activity. Check out their Facebook page (Paulding County Library Youth Services) and watch the weekly storytime with “Kooky Kirk”. Then stop by the library the week of March 1 to March 6 to celebrate “Read Across America” and Dr. Seuss’s Birthday. The Children’s room will have activities and surprises for all participants. March 17 is St. Patrick’s Day come pick up a Leprechaun craft. The annual “Spring Party” will take place on March 25, 5-6:30, with a drive thru style program. The Easter Bunny will be making a visit. Be sure to stop by and get your bag of goodies. March is Women’s History Month, check out our collection of Biographies on women in history. We have a selection of new books to check out. No library card, we can help you with that also.

Did you know March 14 is National Potato Chip Day, and March 19 is National Let’s Laugh Day? 

The Payne Branch Library is having a “Golden Ticket Giveaway” there are two tickets hidden in Adult Fiction/Mystery section as well as Young Adult Fiction. The prizes this round are a Keurig K-Slim coffee maker, adult fiction prize and a Portable Waterproof Bluetooth speaker, YA prize. Check out a book with a golden ticket and win the prize.  Be sure to stop in for your chance to win. Toddler Tales Tuesday storytime will be posted online and there will be a craft ready for parents or caregivers to pick up. Coloring Club Wednesday has coloring sheets and crayons ready to be picked up and take home. 

The Antwerp Branch Library is offering an online storytime every Wednesday, stop by and pick up your craft to go along with the story.

The Oakwood Branch Library is offering a Book Drawing for a new book each month. Fridays are “Family Movie Day” choose a movie or two and get a free bag of microwave popcorn. March 14-17 all kids stop by the library and create your own personal journal, sketch book or diary. “Welcome Spring” with colorful designs you create on the cover of a booklet. March 29 Turkey eggs are coming to the library, and you will get to watch them hatch via live cam.  

The Grover Hill Branch library is planning for the month of March, “Read the Rainbow” the focus is on colors and rainbow theme crafts will be available. Check out the Grover Hill Branch Library facebook page for more upcoming activities. Watch for details in April about the Spring Bucket List.

Friends of the Library’s used bookstore, “Buy the Book” is open for in-person browsing on Wednesdays from 1:30-4:30, and Saturday from 9-12. The bookstore is located in Main Branch Annex Building next to the library.

Check out the newest arrivals of Crafts & hobbies, Christian Inspirational Fiction and Mysteries. Friends Group will meet at the bookstore on Monday, March 8 at 6:00 pm, followed by the Black Swamp Bookworms reading club at 6:30 pm. Pick up a copy of “The Recipe Box” at the main branch and join them.
