Antwerp Police Reports

On May 21, a resident reported they believed their residence had been broken into. After a brief investigation, it was found that a fellow resident had broken into the home.

On May 26, a resident reported that they found a black Lab with a red collar in their yard and was not sure whose dog it was. The police met the residents and took the dog and gave him to the Dog Warden.

On May 28, a suspicious vehicle was located in the alley in the 100 block of South Main St. The vehicle was stopped and after a brief investigation, drugs and drug paraphernalia was taken from the vehicle. The drugs will be forwarded to BCI&I for testing and a report will be forwarded to the Prosecutor for charges.

On May 28, another suspicious vehicle was located in the alley in the 100 Block of South Main St. as a result drugs and drug paraphernalia was found int he vehicle. A report will be forwarded to the Prosecutor’s office for charges.

On May 28, after a brief and ongoing investigation at a residence on East River St, Drugs and cash were located at the residence. The case has been forwarded to the Paulding County Prosecutor. 

On May 29 a domestic dispute was reported on Stone St. The officer found 2 people arguing in the driveway. Nothing physical had occurred and it was merely and outspoken argument.

On May 29, a resident of Shaffer Road called and asked for assistance. They said a kitten had gotten stuck in a hole on the back of their TV console. The officer responded and was unsuccessful in getting the cat out of the hole. The officer located power tools and cut enough of the console to free the kitten.

On May 29, a resident of South Erie Street reported that somebody was burning cardboard boxes behind their house. The officer responded and told the person who started the fire that open burning was illegal in the village of Antwerp.

On May 30, a resident reported there was a green car driving recklessly around town and around the the Park Avenue Villas. The vehicle was located and the driver was stopped and cited for driving recklessly and driving without a license. There has been numerous complaints and citations in the village of this person’s driving.

On June 1, a minor motor vehicle accident occurred on South Main Street. 

On June 1, a call was received for a welfare check of an elderly resident. The officer found the resident and that he was fine.

On June 1, a resident reported a blue 4 wheeler being operated on Maple Drive. An officer attempted to locate the 4 wheeler, but could not find it. A reminder is that operating a four wheeler on any street in Ohio is illegal.

On June 2, a resident reported that the night before around midnight somebody was knocking on the door and ringing the doorbell. The resident answered the door but the person had left. In the morning the resident noticed the yard ornaments had been knocked over and moved.

On June 2, at 1:00 a.m. a resident of North Garden Apartments reported it sounded like somebody was attempting to break into their apartment. The officer found no one there at the apartment. The officer checked the entire area of Park Avenue and no one suspicious was found.
