Antwerp Police Reports

The Antwerp Police gave a summary of a few reports from October 16 through October 29.

On October 17, a non-injury accident was reported at the Pit Stop parking lot gas station. One vehicle backed into another. A report was prepared and filed.

On October 17, a domestic dispute was reported at North Gardens Apartments. An adult female reported that her 13 year old son had kicked her in the stomach and trying to run away from home. The juvenile was located. The case was investigated and an officer with the Paulding County Juvenile Court was notified and reports were forwarded to the court and the Prosecutor’s office.

On October 18, two individuals, one male and one female, arrived at the Paulding County Hospital. Both were under the influence of alcohol and unknown substances. Both had left a residence in the village of Antwerp. The case was investigated and report was forwarded to the prosecutor for an adult male for furnishing alcohol to an underage person and obstruction of justice.

On October 19, a resident of Harrmann Road called and said she wanted her husband out of the house and told the officer she was going to get a restraining order against her husband. When it was explained that if no violence occurred then it is a civil matter, and if she needed assistance they could call them. She became upset and complained that the police department isn’t helping her.

On October 19, officers assisted the EMS who then transported a person to the hospital.

On October 19, a domestic dispute was reported at a residence on Harrmann Road and it was determined that nothing physical occurred. 

On October 21, an accident was reported at the corner of Main and Railroad Sts. Neither vehicle had injured occupants. One vehicle was towed and the driver cited for assured clear distance.

On October 22, a resident called a water main break at the corner of Erie and Canal Sts., and the officer notified the Village Utilities Department.

On October 25, a resident called about a cat’s head being stuck in a fence. The officer responded and a few scratches later had the cat dislodged from the fence.

On October 26, a disturbance was reported on the 400 block of North Main St. An officer responded and one adult male was charged and arrested for assault and taken to the Paulding County Jail.

On October 27, a possible break in was reported at the old Antwerp School. An officer responded by inspecting the facility and found several unlocked doors. The doors were secured and continued to inspect, but found nothing else.

On October 28, there was a report of a suspicious vehicle in the Dollar General parking lot at closing time. The officer responded and found the vehicle was disabled with occupants present. The officer assisted them with getting their vehicle operational and they left.
