NEW LIBRARY DIRECTOR HIRED AT PAULDING COUNTY CARNEGIE LIBRARY

The Paulding County Carnegie Library Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that a new Director of the Library System has been hired, effective July 29, 2019.  The Board has hired Ms. Ellen Williams of Payne, Ohio to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of former Director, Ms. Susan Pieper.  

Ms. Williams brings eighteen years of Ohio public school library service to Paulding County Carnegie Library.   Thirteen years of service was as the District Librarian at Paulding Exempted Village Schools; and, three years of service was as District Librarian at Defiance City Schools.  Ms. Williams also has one year of experience as a Media Specialist with Fort Wayne Community Schools; as well as, two years of service as a Business and Technology Reference Librarian with Allen County Indiana Public Library System.

Ms. Williams has an MLS degree, is licensed as a State of Ohio certified Library Media Specialist and has a BA business degree.  Also, Ms. Williams possesses an Ohio teaching license; she is an Ohio Department of Education Master Teacher.  Ms. Williams is also a certified purchasing manager through the National Association of Purchasing Management.  The professional organizations that Ms. Williams has membership with, in the State of Ohio, are: OELMA (Ohio Educational Library Media Organization) and INFOhio, an Ohio PreK-12 digital Library Board member and is a member of the Executive Committee.

The skill base that Ms. Williams brings to the Library includes: managing collections, negotiation, technology instruction and electronic database navigation proficiency.  She is passionate about instilling a love of reading by helping patrons find the books, or materials, that they need or want.  The Director position will allow her to reach a more extensive user base and she looks forward to serving the residents of Paulding County.
