Paulding FFA has Successful Fair Week

During last week’s fair, the Paulding FFA had many members participate in a variety of activities. This year’s fair was June 8th-15th, with many activities each day. On Monday, several members participated in the annual king and queen contest.  Riley Noffsinger was this year’s king, Kalyn Strahley was queen, Shannon Hale was 1st runner up, and Courtney Luderman was the second runner up.

Every Paulding FFA member had at least one project at the fair this year. This year there were over 35 animal projects and over 100 still projects. The still projects this year included welding boards, electrical boards, cutting boards, and independent carpentry and welding projects. Will Bulka placed first in electricity and Hailey Harris placed second. Courtney Luderman placed 1st with her SAE poster and Jordyn Merriman received first with her carpentry project.  The chapter also had a lot of members win awards with their livestock projects. Grand champion winners included Hailey Weidenhamer with her poultry meat pen, Jalynn Parrett with her market and breeding goat, and Isabelle Heitman with her single fryer rabbit. Reserve champions included Jonathon Reinhard with his turkey meat pen and Courtney Luderman with her dairy beef steer. Nolan Johanns placed 1st in beginner showmanship with his swine project.  Other members placed 1st and 2nd in many of their livestock classes.Kalyn Strahley won the showman of showmen contest on Friday as well.   The members were also very busy helping in the FFA Alumni Sausage Stand and serving on the Paulding County Jr. Fairboard helping to run the livestock shows.  The Paulding FFA had a very successful year at the Paulding County Fair, the chapter is excited for next year!
