Warriors roll past Braves

WOODLAN – In a non-league battle featuring a pair of Allen County teams, Woodlan scored 14 runs over the first three innings in route to a 15-1 victory over Blackhawk Christian.

The Warriors scored three times in the first and added five more in the second, pushing the lead to an 8-0 advantage.

Woodlan then plated six more runs in the third to take a commanding 14-0 lead before settling on the victory.

Trevor Wallace and Connor Sowers each had two hits for the Warriors, who totaled nine for the game. Nolan Brooks, Tanner Bair, Seb Speith, Blake Bontrager and Michael King also picked up hits for Woodlan.

Wallace and Sowers each had three runs batted in as well for Woodlan while Speith and Bontrager scored three runs apiece.

Michael Pulver, Jake Boyer, Callan Wood and Seth Leininger all had hits for Blackhawk Christian.

Blake Fuller got the win for Woodlan, pitching three innings while scattering four hits and two walks. Fuller also struck out three Brave batters.
