Panthers hold off Wildcats to get NWC win

DELPHOS – Chelsi Geisige hit four three-pointers and scored 15 points to lead the Paulding Lady Panthers past host Delphos Jefferson 51-49 Thursday night in Northwest Conference girls action.

The maroon and white also got 13 markers and a pair of treys from Audrey Geisige along with nine points and a dozen boards from Sadie Estle.

Janae Pease picked up seven markers and ten rebounds as well with Bri Townley finishing with five points and 11 rebounds.

The Panthers and Wildcats were tied at 8-8 at the end of one quarter before Delphos Jefferson took a 23-21 halftime advantage.

Paulding rallied in the third quarter, picking up 14 points while holding the Lady Wildcats to 11 as the Panthers grabbed a 35-34 lead going to the final eight minutes of action.

The maroon and white then outscored Delphos Jefferson 16-15 in the fourth quarter to post the victory.

Aly Lindeman scored 15 points for the Lady Wildcats with Delaney Deuel and Kaylee Buzard chipping in ten markers each.

Addy Stewart recorded nine markers for Delphos Jefferson followed by Brooke Brinkman with four and Mallory Bridges with one.

The Lady Panthers return to action on Thursday when they host Ada in Northwest Conference play.
