On December 8th, county rivals Paulding and Wayne Trace met up on the court for high school boys basketball action in The Palace.
This annual match up went right down the wire. The first quarter was all square – 16-16. Steady back and forth with defense and shots brought the half-time score to a slight Panther lead at 27-25. With that slight edge, Paulding rallied to widen the gap by one more at the end of the 3rd quarter. The Raiders made a huge rally in the 4th quarter gaining 18 points to Paulding’s 13. This tipped the scales to the Raiders giving them a County win.
Gerber and Reinhart led the Raiders with 13 points each followed by Miller and Vining with 10. Mohr chipped in 4, Price 3, and Linder earned 2 at the free throw line.
Panthers’s Miller dominated the court earning 34 points for his team, Shull aided with 7, Cook with 5, and McGarvey, Manz & Eblin with 2.Kesler sunk 1 point from the free throw line for the Panthers.
