Archers Came Up Short To Pilots In Districts

NAPOLEON – The Lady Archers of Antwerp put up a valiant fight in the Division IV district semifinals at Napoleon High School Monday night but came up short to a very good Ayersville team in four games.

The Pilots took the opener in convincing fashion, rolling to a 25-12 victory, before Antwerp battled, rallied and outlasted Ayersville 26-24 in the second set.

After the Archers led midway through game three, a six point Ayersville run turned the tide in a 25-19 victory by the Pilots. Ayersville then closed out the match with a 25-19 win in game four.

Chloe Franklin dished out 26 assists for the blue and white while adding six kills. Franklin was also a perfect 13 of 13 serving with an ace in her final game in an Antwerp uniform.

Kendall Billman added two assists and 13 digs for Antwerp with Alyssa Fuller posting 25 digs and eight kills while being nine of nine serving.

Kaitlyn Hamman also picked up 13 digs for the blue and white to go along with 11 kills and 18 of 18 serving with one ace. Karsyn Brumett recorded 28 digs for the Lady Archers with Madison Boesch chipping in seven.

Astianna Coppes aided the Archer cause with one block and eight slams with Heather Oberlin recording three kills.

The Archers wrap up the season with a record of 10-14 overall.
