COMMUNITY COMES TOGETHER TO HELP ONE OF THEIR OWN

Saturday, August 11th early a.m., 52 year old Con Shuherk of Payne, OH was badly injured when a car he was working on at his home fell on him and resulted in multi pelvic fractures.

It seems everyone in Paulding Co. & area knows Con, his wife Ann, family Alyssa Saylor, Dustin, Brandon, Emily Spangler and their families. An Antwerp High School graduate, Con entered the US Coast Guard right out of high school and trained as a mechanic and EMT. After serving 8 years, the family soon returned to N.W. Ohio and he continued as an EMT for both Payne and Paulding until stepping down recently. Others know him from working for Stykemain Chevrolet Dealership in Paulding.

Con will be many weeks in a wheelchair and a lot of physical therapy. Family and friends have come together and established a fund to build a deck/ramp at his residence. It turned out to be what looked like an “Ole time barn raising” event on Saturday, August 18th.

He is very humbled with all the outpouring of assistance, love and prayers. Con, it’s just neighbors helping neighbors!
