Opioids Discussed at Kiwanis

Paulding, OH: This week at Kiwanis, member Dave Burtch introduced Laurie Lucus, the chair of the Paulding County Republican Women. The opioid epidemic is real and it’s a real threat in Paulding County as well. Lucus advises everyone who has children and grandchildren to come to the Opiate and Drug Forum on Thursday, May 10th at the OSU Extension Center at 5:15 p.m. The forum will include speakers such as Randi Ostry, Drug Use Education and Policy Manager from the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, State Senator Rob McColley, State Representative Craig Riedel, Judge Tiffany Beckman, and a graduate of the Drug Court Rehab program, County Sheriff Jason Landers, Truancy Officer Elizabeth Zartman, Dr. Buonocore and Sammie Hill, the Director of Operations for Pain Management Group, and Michael Schweinsberg to speak on Generation Rx. The forum includes some representative from all aspects of the opioid epidemic. The Paulding County Republican Women are hoping to educate the public about the real dangers of opiates no matter what political views you have. Light supper will be provided starting at 5:30 with a free will donation. This is a terrific way to educate yourself, and to see the very real dangers that face our community. Kiwanis members will meet next Thursday as usual and wish to see you at the forum that evening.
