Paulding FFA Competes In Public Speaking- Strahley Advances to State!

The Paulding FFA Chapter recently sent five members to the Sub-District Public Speaking Contest on Thursday February 15th at Delphos.

Paulding had three members compete in the extemporaneous division. Abbie McMichael placed 4th, Jennifer Stahl placed 5th, and Devon Smith placed 8th. In the extemporaneous division, members must draw a topic and they are given 30 minutes to write a speech about it. Once the 30 minutes is over they must present the speech to the judges, it must be 4 to 6 minutes in length.

Kalyn Strahley placed 2nd in the Advanced Prepared Public Speaking Division with her speech about Wind Farms. Jonathan Reinhard placed 1st in Advanced FFA Creed Speaking. Kalyn and Jonathan moved onto the district competition that was held on February 21st at Clyde High School.  Jonathan Reinhard placed 3rd respectively in the advance creed speaking contest. Kalyn Strahley placed 1st with her advanced prepared speech about wind turbines, this qualified her for the state competition on March 3rd at Marysville. Great job to all our public speaking participants.
