Canal Prints Donated to Library

Stan and Barb Searing shared Canal Prints with library director, Susan Pieper.

PAULDING – Stan and Barb Searing recently donated twelve prints depicting the Ohio canals to the historic Paulding County Carnegie Library. These prints were a premium offered in 2007-2008 presented to the Searings with their membership to the Ohio Canal Society. The prints depict different canal boats, locks and scenes from the Miami-Erie Canal era.

“We have placed the prints under glass in the local history south wing of the main library,” shared Susan Pieper, Library Director. “The public is invited to view these prints during open hours.” Mr. Searing shared that the Ohio Canal Society is a great organization to join if you are interested in the canal system that was utilized throughout Ohio in the 19th century.

The exhibit is open for viewing during regular business hours of Monday-Thursday 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. For more information about the library call 419-399-2032 or visit the library’s website at www.pauldingcountylibrary.org.
