Lancers pull away from Paulding for NWC win

PAULDING – After watching host Paulding trim its deficit to one point at the end of three quarters, Lincolnview responded to outscore the Panthers 20-10 in the fourth quarter as the Lancers posted a 65-54 victory.

The Lancers led at every stop in the contest, including a 16-12 advantage after 8 minutes of action.

Lincolnview pushed the margin to 32-26 at the midway point, outscoring the maroon and white 16-14 in the second quarter.

However, the Panthers answered and picked up 18 third quarter points compared to 13 for Lincolnview as the maroon and white trimmed the deficit to 45-44 entering the final period.

Ethan Rhonehouse topped the Panther scorers with a dozen points while Austin Howell chipped in 9 markers. Jaret Miller, Marcus Miller and Blake Dobbelaere all had 8 points for the maroon and white followed by Logan Bradford with 6 and Bailey Manz with 3.

Chayton Overholt topped the Lancer efforts with 14 points and Alek Bowersock added 11 markers.

Ethan Kemler and Tristin Miller posted 8 to aid the Lincolnview cause while Caden Ringwald recorded 7. Isaic Bowersock and Logan Williams picked up 2 markers each for the Lancers.

Paulding was paced by Ethan Rhonehouse with a dozen points and Austin Howell recorded 9.

Jaret Miller, Marcus Miller and Blake Dobbelaere all had 8 markers for the Panthers while Logan Bradford chipped in 6 and Bailey Manz posted 3.

The Lancers won the battle of the boards, 24-19, but also committed more turnovers, 13-8.

Lincolnview finished the night 22 of 43 from the field (52%) while the Panthers were limited to 16 of 54 (29%).
