Monroe Township – The Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single vehicle fatal crash which occurred on Hillville Road, east of State Route 65 in Allen County.
On February 21, 2018, at approximately 3:32 A.M., troopers responded to the scene. A 2009 Mercury Mariner Sport Utility Vehicle, operated by Jill A. Perham, age 61, of Columbus Grove, Ohio was traveling west bound on Hillville Road and traveled off of the left side of the road. The vehicle continued through the ditch, struck a utility pole and traveled over the rail road tracks. The vehicle came to final rest in a ditch.
Mrs. Perham was pronounced dead at the scene by Allen County Coroner’s Assistant Jamie Sizemore. She was transported to Mercy Health. The front seat passenger, Steven Perham, age 60, of Columbus Grove, Ohio was transported to Mercy Health with non-life threatening injuries.
Alcohol involvement and seatbelt usage are unknown at this time.
