Community Memorial Hospital Looks to Expand in Antwerp

CMH recently acquired land.

Right now, it looks as if the facility has been out grown and is in very much need of an expansion.

The property previously known as River Street Market and prior to that was Kammeyer Market, has been purchased from Tommy Claire who bought the lot after the fire destroyed the building on the premises.

Community Memorial Hospital is planning to build a new structure that can easily house 3 to 4 practicing doctors plus staff. The parking space alone will be a great improvements over the current location as it is very tight right now—inside and out!

The hospital estimates this to be about a $2 million project.

This new facility will be able to serve the community in a much better way. The timeline is not completed, but optimally it would break ground by the end of the year, but realistically it may be a little longer. CEO Michelle Waggoner was very pleased to announce this new expansion for the Antwerp campus.

The question that has been on everyone’s mind has been, “What about Dr. Gray?”. With Dr. Gray’s contract, he can now practice in northwest Ohio and Antwerp again, but he will not be at this future facility. Dr. Gray plans to return soon to Ohio and is able to practice in Antwerp and the local area once again, but it is doubtful that he will be at this future facility.  If all goes well, he will return back to the building he owns on Buffalo Street once Paulding Hospital vacates the premises when their new facility becomes occupied on South Erie Street, which is nearing completion.

As these expansions move forward, Antwerp and the area will be well served with excellent health care!
