Kiwanis Program Shares Uber-Like Service in Van Wert, County

Kim Bruns (right), NW Ohio Area Manager of Liberty Mobility Now, spoke at a recent Kiwanis meeting in Paulding. Liberty currently serves Van Wert County as a rural and small urban Mobility as a Service MaaS) provider. Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, Liberty connects individuals with safe, reliable transportation partners. Customers can schedule a vehicle “on-demand” or days ahead of time. It is a “pay as you go” taxi-like service. The charge is 1.00/mile with a $4.00 minimum and $1.25 booking fee. Trained drivers must pass a multitude of background checks. Program host, Taryn Stiltner hopes in her capacity as United Way Executive Director to being this type of service to Paulding County in the near future.
