WEHRKAMP TAKES OFFICE AS PAULDING COUNTY PROBATE/JUVENILE JUDGE

Focused on Offering Quality Service at the Court, Strengthening County’s Future

Michael A. Wehrkamp has assumed office as Judge of the Paulding County Probate/Juvenile Court. Close friends and family joined Judge Wehrkamp for a swearing-in ceremony at the Paulding County Courthouse in January. Judge Vernon L. Preston of Ohio’s Third District Court of Appeals, who Wehrkamp considers a professional mentor and friend, administered the oath of office. Judge Wehrkamp’s term officially commenced on February 9, 2017.

“I am honored and humbled to serve the citizens of Paulding County as judge. I am focused on putting the rule of the law first and offering quality service to those who come in contact with the court, while also serving as a partner in efforts to strengthen our county’s future.”

Prior to taking office, Judge Wehrkamp served Paulding County and the surrounding area as a judicial attorney at the Third District Court of Appeals, where he handled probate and juvenile cases and developed a unique perspective into the most pressing challenges facing our community. Before his employment at the Court of Appeals, Judge Wehrkamp was a litigation attorney in private practice.

Judge Wehrkamp is a Paulding High School graduate who went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University (Columbus) and Juris Doctor degree from the University of Toledo College of Law.

Judge Wehrkamp and his wife, Laura, live in Paulding with their son, Andrew.
