Antwerp began their Christmas time of the year with the Chamber of Commerce tapping into all the fun of the season on Friday, December 1st. The hardworking members of the Chamber have been planning the event for months and now it has finally come about. The girls and boys from the high school show choir and band from Antwerp made their appearance with all kinds of seasonal songs, directed by Andrea Newell.

The weather was somewhat chilly, but not too cold for Santa Claus or the children who made it a point to tell the jolly guy what they wanted for Christmas … with Santa promptly asking, “Have you been good this year?”. Most were truthful with St. Nick promptly responding, “I’m sure you’ll get it!”

Since there was chill in the early evening air, the Chamber was all prepared, serving hot chocolate and lots of cookies donated by Chamber members.

Overall, the tree lighting was a fun night with all of the people that showed up. The area was full and it was a festive night!
