Advent wreaths made at Mt. Calvary

Over seventy children, youth, and adults at Mt. Calvary began their preparation for Advent today by making Advent wreaths. Throughout the upcoming Advent (beginning December 3rd) families will light one candle per week.

An Advent wreath’s evergreen boughs form a circular shape, symbolizing continuous life, with four candles to represent the four weeks of Advent. Advent wreaths sometimes contain holly to remind Christians of the thorns in Jesus’ crown when he was crucified.
