Woodlan FFA members recently attended the FFA State FIRE conference held at the Indiana FFA Leadership Center located near Trafalgar, Indiana.  FIRE is an acronym for Foundations In Reaching Excellence.

The conference theme this year was “Camping Adventures”, and was paired with a canoe and camp setting.  The students attended the three day conference to receive training on, “mentoring skills, strengthening leadership skills, and creating a personal vision while having fun learning their newly acquired skills.  The conference concluded with a morning session of reflections, writing happy grams and camp recognition awards.

All Woodlan FFA members in attendance and on different “Camping Adventure” teams received certificates for their achievements during this three day conference. The Woodlan FFA chapter also won the camp gavel through a bidding war against all other chapters in attendance. The auction supports the Indiana FFA State Officers fund. The conference also supported a community service project comprised of making food baskets that each chapter was able to bring back to their community families to enjoy.
