Game Over for Archers at Sectional

The Antwerp Archers took on the Parkway Panthers on Monday, October 16 in the first game of the sectional tournament. The Lady Archers had a phenomenal season early on, but appeared to peak just after half, making it a struggle for the young ladies coming into tournament.

Antwerp won the first set and then the teams switched sides. Every set that was won, was won from the northwest side of the court and by the game end was tied at 2-2, The Archers had a choice whether to keep that side or serve first. They chose the winning side. Unfortunately, that choice didn’t pan out. The girls started with an early 5 point lead at 7-2, but the Panthers clawed their way back to the lead and ended up winning this set, proving the side didn’t matter.

Final scores were Parkway over Antwerp: 25-18, 19-25, 25-11, 10-25, 15-11

Antwerp closes its season with a record of 18-5. Great job on for the 2017 season!
