This year the Northeast Indiana Marine Corps Toys for Tots participated in a fundraising campaign with the Antwerp Conservation Club. The event took place on Saturday, October 8 and earned $800 for this organization that provides for underprivileged kids during the Christmas Season. This was a 2 Gun Tactical match with door prizes and a raffle. The event was held at the new handgun range that was just finished by the members of the club.

Sunny Helstrom is director of the Marine Corps Toys for Tots in Fort Wayne and covers the northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio areas. Sunny said, “We are able to purchase many toys for needy families with the funds raised here.” Sunny has served of 18 years as the Executive Director of the Marine Corps Toys for Tots in Fort Wayne.

From the Antwerp Conservation Club Aaron Kohler contacted Sunny to get this all setup and be able to have this fundraiser out at the beautiful facilities the Conservation Club offers just off of Road 53 in Paulding County.

“We are totally pleased with the Antwerp Conservation Club partnering with us to make this successful.” Are you interested in working with Toys for Tots? email fortwaynetoysfortots@gmail.com and Sunny will work with you to see what can be done. This is the 70th year for Toys for Tots since it’s founding in 1947, just after World War II.
