Letter To The Editor

Too Much Whine

Why are dimms the only ones who feel they can spew out outrageous insults to whomever they please when incidences do not coincide with their political beliefs ?

We have a group of fascists showing up to quell someone’s free speech and these fascists come ready for battle. They bring bottles filled with urine and feces, ball bats and clubs, pepper spray and any thing else that could harm their opponents.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I am not in favor of Neo-Nazis, White Supremacists, nor the KKK. I have seen them marching in southern Ohio. I don’t agree with any of their tenets. However, the U.S. Supreme Court has made its call. They are allowed to do what they do. I, too, don’t condone it and I don’t condone the stomping and burning of the American flag, but that too, is called freedom of speech.

I had many friends who shed their blood and many died for what that flag stands for. Say what you want, those are the facts!

I read the two letters next to mine in last week’s West Bend News. One written by Mike Porter, the other by Judy Snook. In Mr. Porter’s letter he calls for the impeachment of miserable Trump. I should say that it is not miserable Trump, but that Trump is miserable. Can anyone look at our congress and not blame him? Look, the good people of this country put up with Barack Hussein Obama and his minions for eight long years and you never heard the outcry over him that you hear against President Trump. Be honest. Obama tried his best to break this country and he is in the background still doing it. On the subject of Bob Latta, I wholeheartedly agree.  I talked with him for about a half-hour a couple of years ago. I laid out my complaints, he nodded, agreed and never did a thing about them. He is a politician just as his father was, his father Delbert served in the House for thirty years.

In the case of Ms. Snook, boy where do I begin? She started seven paragraphs and one sentence with “I wonder .” # 1. I wonder why people try to excuse a White Supremacist…. I don’t think anyone is excusing him other that his cohorts. # 2. I wonder why people choose to be ignorant. You answered your own question, they choose. # 3. I wonder why people defend a president who is tolerant of intolerance. Does he really? Ask Steve Bannon, Mike Kelly, Sean Spicer, or Steve Scaramucci. Maybe they can tell you. # 4. I wonder why white men with torches… because they’re racists. # 5. I wonder why some are concerned with the preservation of statues of confederate traitors. Are you going to say the same thing if California secedes from the union. It’s on their ballot next year ? # 6. I wonder why some white men have failed the challenge of changing times? I believe a white man is repairing a country that was almost decimated by a black man. # 7. I wonder why so many people spend so much time yelling on social media? I believe it’s because you don’t have to face the person your yelling at!  # 8. I wonder if we can? Ms. Snook, sure we can.

A little post script, you mentioned Ben Franklin and the survival of our democracy. He was very relevant most of the time, but the years he spent in France, he would have made Bill Clinton blush.
