21st Century Community Learning Grant Awarded

Western Buckeye Educational Service Center in partnership with Antwerp Local Schools, Paulding Exempted Village Schools, and Lincolnview Local Schools was awarded a 21st Century Community Learning grant from the Ohio Department of Education. They are currently wrapping up year two of a three year grant. The after school program runs during the school year, but also allows 72 students the opportunity to attend a two week summer camp in June. Each day, the campers divide their time between Camp Clay in Van Wert, Ohio and hands on learning activities at their home elementary building. We celebrated the conclusion of our summer camp, by inviting families for a day of Aqua Park fun at Camp Clay on Friday, June 16h. We had just over 180 people attend our Family Fun Day. Special thanks to the local school districts, Camp Clay, Summer Food Programs, and the Van Wert Manor for their support. If you would like additional information about our 21st Century after school programs, please contact Ashley Shepherd, Program Coordinator at Western Buckeye Educational Service Center, 419-399-4711.
