The street was closed in downtown Payne, Ohio to celebrate the first annual event for “Rock the Block”. It was put on by the City and the Payne Chamber of Commerce. Mayor Steve Wobler worked hard to come up with the idea and promote it. “It’s our first year for this and we are seeing how this goes.” They will be able to see what needs adjusted and improved for next year to do even better.

There were all kinds of activities at the The Rock. There was also a Cornhole tournament and the band starting at 8 pm called Erastus. One of the most popular events was the Chicken Bingo with people were standing watching the chicken. There was also a dunk tank and earning money for the Explorers.

One of the top favorites of the event was the food. Our friends at Puckerbrush were serving barbecue chicken and ribs and they were a favorite! Brian Martin said they had been grilling all weekend and they had been kept busy between the pizza and all the food.
