Flooding update

Payne Ohio Flooding May 2017 – Route 49

A number of residences in and around the Village of Payne and surrounding area were impacted by the flooding of the Flatrock Creek due to heavy rainfall amounts over the past two days.

Volunteers in the Payne and Paulding areas have filled over 2500 sandbags that were made available to residents. Additional sandbags had been previously filled for a flooding event.

Road closures due to flooding will include the roads from the Stateline to Paulding along State Route 500 and the Flatrock Creek area. Road closures specifically include the following roads along State Route 500 at the State Line Road, SR 500 at CR 11, SR 500 at CR 21, SR 500 at TR 270, SR 500 at CR 33, SR 500 at TR 39, SR 500 at SR 49, SR 500 at TR 47, SR 500 at SR 613, SR 500 at TR 51, SR 500 at TR 59 and eventually all of St. Rt. 500 will be closed east of St. Rt. 613 by tomorrow morning.

Residents are asked to avoid these areas.

There have been no injuries or fatalities associated with these floods.

Flooding will continue along the Flatrock Creek east of Payne into the Paulding area overnight. If residents need sandbags they are asked call the Paulding County EMA at 419-399-3500.
