Antwerp senior Sydney Sheedy takes a jump in her competition that awarded her 5th place in the High Jump at the Wayne Trace Track Invite on April 13th.
Hicksville took part in the 41st annual Wayne Trace track invitational on Thursday with the Lady Aces tying for third while the boys squad placed seventh with 25 points.
Hicksville’s girls squad totaled 63 points to tie with Ayersville for third place in the meet. Holgate won the championship with 92 points and Pettisville was second at 67.
Madison Siebenaler won the discus with a toss of 112-8 while Riley Fliggins captured the high jump with a leap of 5-0.
Other girls placing in the meet included Makayla Sullivan (sixth, 1600 run and third, 3200 run), Elizabeth Shaffer (sixth, 800 run), Cheyenne Hart (fourth, 200 dash), Harlee Shuman (second, long jump), Siebenaler (third, shot put), Figgins (sixth, long jump) and Katelyn Bergman (fourth, high jump).
Hicksville relays scoring points were the 1600 relay quartet of Tiffany Chiapetta, Sari Contreras, Shaffer and Figgins, finishing fifth. The Lady Aces 3200 relay team of Sullivan, Emma Payne, Chiapetta and Shaffer took fourth place.
Hart, Sidney Slattery, Figgins and Shuman combined to grab third place in the 400 relay as well for Hicksville.
The Aces’ Michael Myers, Devin Costilla, Arman Haver and Mason Van Atta teamed up to take fourth in the 3200 relay while the 800 relay quartet of Logan Sanderson, Zakk Witte, Ethan Friend and Payton Tunis finished sixth.
Tunis, Van Atta, Friend and Hunter Evans posted a third place finish in the 400 relay and Hicksville’s 1600 relay squad of Costilla, Van Atta, Owen Allen and Sanderson grabbed sixth.
Cory Langham placed sixth in the 110 hurdles and Myers grabbed a third place finish in the 1600 run. Evans also picked up a third place finish in the high jump.
