Mr. and Mrs. Jim Arend of Antwerp are celebrating 50 years of marriage. James Arend and Joanne Sadoski were married April 1, 1967 at the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Temperance, MI by the late Louis A. Komorowski, OSFS, the bride’s uncle. Jim worked as a machinist at Dana-Wehaterhead for 39 1/2 years and retired in 2001. Joni worked as a cashier and service desk associate at Target in Fort Wayne, IN for 14 years, also retiring in 2001. They have four children: Nick (Mary Kate) Arend of Urbana, IL, David Arend of North Royalton, OH, Barbara (Jeff) Arend-Hendricks of Cincinnati, OH and Patricia Arend (partner Eric McGuire) of Fitchburg, MA. They have seven grandchildren. An open house will be held at St. Mary’s Center at Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Antwerp on Saturday, April 8, 2017 from noon to 3:00 p.m. for family and friends. No gifts please.
