Bombers Crash and Burn by Archer Arrows

Jake Ryan sends a shot from past the 3 point line and sinks it for the Archers.

The game started off on Saturday, February 11 about like any game—Edon and Antwerp, low scoring but competitive. Antwerp spread the points across Trey Mills, Brandon Pendergrast and Hunter Noel while Braden Miller was the lone scorer for Edon, chipping in 2-3 pointers and a 2 point field goal. The first period was 9-8 and Antwerp was in the lead.

In the second period The Archers increased the lead when Matt Jones and Dylan Peters both shot 3’s. Cole Seslar posted his first points along with Luke Brewer. The half finished 28-16 and the Archers produced a solid lead.

Coach Billman inspired the team in the 2nd half of the game and the it seemed a different group. Of course Snowcoming was happening right after the game. Were the boys out there to impress the girl friends? I don’t know but they astonished the whole crowd when they scored 27 points in the 3rd and another 28 in the 4th quarters. Matt Jones added another 10 points Dylan Peters was right up there too with 4 – 3 point baskets for the night. The team overall sunk 12 from the far side with Altimus, Seslar and Dooley all being contributors. While all this was going on the Bombers only scored 6 and 8 points respectively in the two periods.

The boys who normally play JV also came in and kept the scoring alive when they pushed the points passed 80. Ty Rebber and Jake Ryan both added field goals. The final score was 83-30.
