Tigers Upset Panthers

Paulding hosted Holgate for the final game of 2016 on Friday, December 30. The Tigers came in to the match with a 3-2 record and Paulding opened with a 3-5 and 1-0 conference record.

The boys basketball game was a struggle when Paulding couldn’t gain traction in the first half. Only 2 points were hit for the whole in team in the first period and that was by Griffin Harder. At this same time Holgate posted 11. Quarter 2 was much better for the home team but still not meeting up to the Tigers’ standards. Jaret Miller sunk a 3 point shot, his first of two. Ethan Rhonehouse, Kameron Echols and Griffin Harder all added a field goal in this quarter. The half ended at 12-25.

Paulding had their best period, coming back from half time when they added 16 points. They outscored the guest by 4 and looked like they were going to give Holgate a run for their money. The whole team looked good here. Preston Ingol added his first points here, six for the quarter. This quarter ended 28-37.

The fourth quarter when back to looking like the start of the game—only 3 points posted for the home team while Holgate had their best, adding 17. The game finished 54-31.
