The Paulding FFA Chapter has been very busy at the start of this school year. The members have been working hard and volunteering for many different activities throughout the community.

Parent member meeting: The FFA officers, and alumni hosted a parent member meeting on August 30th to kick off the year. This meeting was held in the poultry barn at the fairgrounds, and the meeting informed parents and new members of trips, and FFA activities. Those who attended even got to enjoy a delicious sausage sandwich provided by the FFA alumni.

Oakwood homecoming events: The Paulding FFA was also very busy with the Oakwood homecoming events. As they held a kiddie tractor pull, and a food stand on September 4th. The members decorated a float to pull through the Oakwood Homecoming parade, they passed out candy while wearing FFA shirts to promote our organization, and chapter on September 5th.

FFA sausage stand: During Flat Rock Fall Festival the members, and alumni worked hard in the FFA sausage stand to serve their famous sausage sandwiches. The sausage stand was yet again a successful fundraiser!

Farm Science Review FarAlong with all of the hard work the students have put in at the beginning of this new year, they had the opportunity to travel to London Ohio for Farm Science Review on September 20th. At Farm Science Review the members walked the many rows of agriculture businesses, and machinery. While at the farm show, the members had many great opportunities to talk to local businesses about what their company does and about agriculture jobs, and to ask questions to see what future job opportunities Ohio has to offer. This is a great opportunity for people of any age that are interested in agriculture to give them a real life idea as to what all agriculture consists of.

Soil Judging CDE: The beginning of CDE (Career Development Events) season is among the Paulding FFA Chapter. On September 22nd the Paulding FFA soil judging teams traveled to Hardin Northern to compete in the invitational. The contest is split up into two different parts, rural and urban soils. Our teams consisted of Rural: Katlynn Fuller, Paige Fitzwater, Shannon Hale, and Urban: Hannah Farr, Kaylie Tressler, Courtney Luderman, Ethan Matty. The members of each team examine the soil in a soil pit for texture, erosion, depth to water table, and many more aspects of the  properties of soil.
