I visited the Paulding County Jail the other day, and I was impressed with the appearance, inside and out. It was very neat and well organized. Maybe I better slow up,  that was the sheriff’s office that we visited.

The incarceration area is well organized with double bunks and tables for 14 inmates. There are three of these areas, It is well organized and ready to become a bonafide jail.

Sheriff Landers tell me that if the voters on election day will pass that 1.35 mil levy for five years, that will be sufficient funds to do the job.

The levy would bring in a little over $600,000 per year and that will operate the jail and nearly all of that amount will stay right here in Paulding County as wages, expense and operation.

If the levy passes we will no longer be sending $81,000 to Putnam County each quarter, that money will remain here in Paulding County.

It sounds to me just good business to have our jail. Especially since we have that beautiful building.

See ya!
