Summary: Homecoming night for the Wayne Trace football team was a struggle and Ayersville ran away with the game.

The threat of rain was constantly on the horizon just as the peril of the Pilots was lingering. Ayersville is the top team in the GMC and are still undefeated after 5 games. They came to the Raiders field for the competition on Friday night September 30. The game followed the presentation of the homecoming court on this cool and breezy evening.

The first touchdown of the game started with Ayersville’s Dauson Dales’ pass to Jacob Miller. Wayne trace’s first touchdown was by Trae Sinn passing the ball to Jon Sinn who ran the ball into the end zone. The point after attempt was good by a kick from Hayden Gillett. The first quarter ended 7-14. Not too bad.

The second period was crazy for the Pilots. Five additional touchdowns before the half which ended at 7-42.

Both bands half time shows were excellent for the Raider fans.

The third period was another great quarter for the Pilots when they added another 21 points, holding back the Raider offense from scoring.

Gabe Sinn scored the final points of the game when he received a pass from Nate Gerber, running 24 yards for the touchdown.

The final score of the game was 13-63.

In Total Offense rushing Ayersville outpaced the Raiders 412 yards to the Raider 254.

Wayne Trace will be travelling to Holgate on Friday, October 7 for their next game.

The Raiders are now 2-4.
