On Tuesday, September 13th, Antwerp hosted Paulding, Montpelier, and Woodlan, at their home course, Riverside Park, for a Cross Country meet. There was no shortage of runners at this event. Varsity Boys, Varsity Girls, and Junior High from all of these schools showed up to participate. Of the Varsity boys, Paulding came in first with a score of 22; Antwerp came in second with a score of 59; Montpelier came in third with a score of 68; and Woodlan came in fourth with a score of 86. The top three finishers for each school were: Paulding – Simeon Shepherd (18:40), Bailey Manz (19:19), Dayton Pracht (19:28); Antwerp – Brian Geyer (19:37), Garrett Laney (20:20), Drake Gerken (20:26); Montpelier – Alec Waterston (19:43), Jared Rediger (19:52), William Belknap (20:59); Woodlan – Jacob Gents (19:06), Sebastan Wilson (20:22), Landen Linnemeier (21:53)

Of the Varsity girls, Montpelier took first with a score of 40, Antwerp took second with 41, Woodlan took third with 69, and Paulding got fourth with 76. The top three finishers for each school were: Montpelier – Jacqueline Carlson (22:43), Kimme Engels (23:47), Brinn Miller (25:00); Antwerp – Emma Butzin (24:04), Aleyah Cline (25:13), Sydney Miller (25:15); Woodlan – Ellie Kayser (22:21), Zariah Meador (25:50), Jordan Lawson (26:38).

All of these high school teams ran an excellent race. Congratulations to all Athletes who participated.

Of the Junior High boys, only Woodlan and Montpelier had enough players for a team. Montpelier was first, Woodlan was second. Of the Junior High girls, Montpelier, Woodlan, and Antwerp were able to run teams. Woodlan got first, Montpelier was second, Antwerp was third. The Top three finishers from each score were: Antwerp – Jason Geyer (12:37), Josh Timbrook (13:42), Zack Lockhart (14:41); Woodlan – Max Moore (12:53), Abbey Gentz (13:39), Caleb Lawson (13:49); Montpelier – Thomas Jay (13:11), Dylan Eitniear (13:34), Scott Hillard (14:01)
