Confirmed Tornado Impacts 4-Mile Stretch Of Paulding County

The National Weather Service issued a Tornado Warning for Paulding County at 5:28 pm. There was confirmed touch down at 5:40 pm northeast of Antwerp, Ohio, in Crane Township, at the intersection of County Roads 63 and 220, heading in a Northeasterly direction. A four mile stretch in Paulding County was impacted before the tornado entering Defiance County.

The tornado has affected 7 homes and 5 barns and outbuildings.

There have been no reported injuries.

The following roads remain closed due to debris and down power lines:

The Antwerp and Cecil Fire Departments provided damage assessment and assistance to the victims. The Paulding County Highway and ODOT crews have set up barricades and worked to remove as many trees and assist in removing debris from the roadway. The Paulding County Sheriff provided assistance to victims and will continue to patrol the area tonight. The northwest region of the American Red Cross has been in contact, and at this time will not be opening a shelter as victims are staying the night with family and friends. The Paulding County Commissioners were briefed by EMA Director Bohn and will continue to monitor the situation overnight.
